Subtle observations we often fail to notice

While walking with the toddlers yesterday morning we came across many beautiful aspects in our neighbouring nature trail. As we journeyed on we saw birds, animal habitats and signs of ice and snow. Our originally short walk turned into a long journey as we found more things to discover and observe. We were almost back at the school when suddenly M.S. shouts “look an ‘X’!” and points up high into the tree.

Many believe that toddlers don’t look beyond eye level, however we think differently. We have learned that young children are natural observers- they are constantly looking around and trying to locate new things to observe and experience. It’s little moments like these that help bring provocations to life and possibilities of new projects to come. Thank you toddlers, you have helped us to appreciate the little things in life 🙂
